Nairobi, May 4th, 2025 – The 3rd Annual 2025 E-Mobility Stakeholders Conference and Expo in Nairobi came to an end today.
The gathering, organized by Kenya Power, GIZ Kenya, and the Electric Mobility Association of Kenya (EMAK), attracted over 1,000 participants drawn from government, private industry, and development partners. It was expected to provide a platform to examine new technologies, policy directions, and investment opportunities aimed at accelerating the adoption of electric mobility in the country.
The event opened on Sunday, May 4, with a 77-kilometre e-mobility parade across Nairobi and its environs. The following two days featured keynote addresses, panel discussions, exhibitions, and live demonstrations under the theme “Nurturing the Growth of E-Mobility in Kenya.”
Kenya Power’s Managing Director and CEO, Dr. (Eng.) Joseph Siror, confirmed that preparations were on schedule, noting that the 2025 edition reflected emerging trends in the sector. He said the conference offered an opportunity for industry stakeholders to exchange ideas, compare experiences, and showcase innovations that could drive e-mobility growth.
The programme included presentations from key speakers in the energy, transport, and trade sectors, with discussions structured around four thematic areas: technology commercialization, policy outlook, infrastructure and regulation, and research and development.
In addition to the conference, the expo hosted 40 exhibitors, ranging from vehicle assembly firms and battery swap service providers to financiers and insurance companies. Members of the public were also invited to take part in test drives of electric vehicles during the event.
